After producing the storyboard and idea we decided to work on the script.. However we only wanted a very small amount of dialogue as it builds suspense, so that we can put our audience on edge and follow the conventions of a thriller. We only had a couple of lines throughout and you can't see the character's faces whilst they are saying it, therefore we were able to use the voiceover tool on the iMovie program on the Mac.
The following is the only section of dialogue that we have included in our film:
Joe: So what do you want me to do?
Elliott: There's no time for that, run!
We felt that this was all that the opening needed, as well as various sound effects were enough to build tension throughout the film. We found that silence says more in a thriller then long complex conversations do, through this method we were able to keep the audience guessing as to what was happening next.
